Katie Pidgeon joined Civic News as the Grant Accountant in November 2025, where she oversees grant reporting, compliance, and financial systems that help power the organization’s independent journalism. With more than 15 years of experience in finance and operations, she enjoys creating structure and clarity around complex funding portfolios and making financial information accessible for program, development, and leadership teams.

Before joining Civic News, Katie led finance and operations at a conservation nonprofit, where she built grant management systems, strengthened internal controls, and supported organizational growth. She’s motivated by the idea that strong, transparent financial practices help build trust with funders, partners, and the broader community. Based in Bozeman, Montana, she enjoys spending her free time outdoors—skiing, hiking, rafting, and gardening.
